My little Black Book of Celebrity Edge

My little Black Book of Celebrity Edge notes;

We posted about the Celebrity Edge announcement back in February. We started booking in March 2017, and we are back with more details for you!

Coming Soon! Celebrity Edge, December 2018

The largest pool in the industry will live on the Resort Deck!

The Rooftop Garden will be a multipurpose venue and will have a grill. This area replaces the Lawn Club and will offer “A Taste of Film” where movies will be shown and the culinary team will create a menu to match your movie $$$. Evenings here are going to be off-the-charts with live music literally coming out of the tree tops.

Details on LAUNCHES and DESTINATION GATEWAY, this is your way to go“ship to port in style”. The Launches themselves- they are the size of a tennis court and will accommodate 95 guests.

They will also be air conditioned, and they will have windows all the way around for you to look out of, and will have comfortable seating too. Everything you asked for in a tender.

The Magic Carpet will serve as "Destination Gateway", a multipurpose area. When it is docked on Deck 2 for example maybe on a sea day, it could serve as “Game-On” with interactive games for adults and children alike. It will also be used for meeting space and art auctions as well as “Trunk Shows” like a Bazaar from a specific port of call.

There will be ‘all sorts of technology’ here on deck 2 at Destination Gateway.

When the Magic Carpet is docked on Deck 16 it will be a Lounge and specialty restaurant offering dining on the edge...... Imagine watching the sun set “On The Edge”?

It will also serve as dining offering specialty dining, “Dinner on the Edge”. Deck 5 will be “another” lounge destination and offer dining as well.

There are 8 Launches that accommodate passengers disembarking at Destination Gateway and each Launch will carry 182 passengers. The maximum cruise speed is 50 knots and each will be 829 SF.

The Edge will have 1467 staterooms. The Sunset Veranda’s and the Suites do NOT have the NEW Infinite Veranda’s. We will discuss accommodations in another blog post.

My Little Black Book of Anthem of the Seas Insider Secrets!

Anthem of the Seas My Little Black Book of Insider Secrets -
And the How-To’s Just for Anthem Of The Seas!

Before you leave;

Create a royalcaribbean.com MyCruises account and log on often to check for discounts on things like excursions, beverage packages and spa treatments. Look at the deck plans and learn your way around. Make reservations for your Anthem of the Seas Entertainment as soon as you see shows open, also on your MyCruises Cruise Planner. Specialty Dining? You can pre book on your Cruise Planner. Your pre-book shows are We Will Rock You, Spectra’s Cabaret and The Gift.

This is a “Smart-Ship”, and a smart terminal at Cape Liberty. Complete your Online-Check in and upload your picture from the comfort of your home, before you leave. This speeds up the process of checking in at the terminal.

Need an Uber or Limo to pick you up or drop you off, this is the address of Cape Liberty:  4 Port Terminal Blvd, Bayonne, NJ 07002.

When you Board: Look for Specialty Dining Discounts and Packages. There is a Buy one Get one Offer for the First Night. Book it as soon as you Board Anthem, unless you see this appear on your Cruise Planner.

Go to Café at Two70 for lunch. Book the Escape Room, spots fill up very quick.  If you have My Time Dining (this is flexible dining where you do not have a set dining time), then you will be assigned to one of the following restaurants, either American Icon or Silk. (This can vary depending on the direction of the HD). TIP: This is a GREAT Time to run up to the Bumper Cars. Historically open on boarding day it is usually quiet!

Royal IQ: Go into Airplane mode. You can iMessage if you’re using an iPhone. Watch your Cruise Planner for discounts on VOOM WiFi.

Secret: If you are a small party of 2 and you couldn’t make a reservation, then find out the times for the show you want to see beforehand. Thirty minutes prior to that show time, go to the venue and wait on the stand-by line. You can iFly a second time by also going on stand-by. This can apply for a North Star flight as well. Check for times and arrive 30 minutes prior.

ALWAYS READ YOUR CRUISE COMPASS – This is your daily newspaper. It will be left in your stateroom the night before. Did you know that you can either “Boogie board” on Flowrider, or you can try to “Hang-Ten” and stand-up surf. Check timing.

Secret: Located on the Pool Deck, Right outside Johnny Rockets in the H2O Zone is an old-fashioned round whirlpool pool. Hey, remember walking ‘round & ‘round your above-ground backyard pool growing up? Well, this pool takes you round & round without the effort. Billed for children you will see an adult pop-up here and there for sure!

Secret: There is a Sushi-Making class at Izumi. Check for times once on board.

Secret: Seeing Spectra’s Cabaret from different areas of Two70 give you different experiences! Have time. See it twice!

Secret: The Solarium has a great breakfast, lunch, and you can make reservations for dinner, complimentary.  Here you will find your way to the buffet for your bread and appetizers, but you will be served dinner. Find the Swing.

Secret: Every bar has their own exclusive Cocktail Menu. Check them all out. The Schooner Bar is a Piano Bar, stop here to see the entertainer of the week playing the ivory keys!

Secret: There is a “Pop-Up Bloody Mary kiosk” and you might see this on the Esplanade in the morning on the last sea day.

Secret: Walk all the way forward in the solarium and to the right or to the left, then through the doors to the ‘wings’ for an amazing forward-facing view!

Secret: If you’re a large party and plan on buying pictures, then you want to inquire about photo packages, it will pay to purchase a package if you plan to buy a bunch of pictures.

Secret: In the Windjammer Marketplace Buffet you will find a specialty coffee bar and a fresh juice bar and cocktails too! So, grab your Mimosa or Bloody Mary before finding a seat!

Secret: Find the “Interactive Chandelier”.

Secret: We have heard people miss The Music Hall, Note: Do NOT miss The Music Hall.

Secret: Best Kept! If you hang around Two70 during the day you are bound to catch the cast of Spectra’s Cabaret practicing!!

Secret: If you are an early riser, or stay up till the wee hours of the morning then your only place to get complimentary morning coffee and snacks will be Café Promenade. Alternatively Sorrento’s for pizza is opened until 2am, and room service is $7.95 for food bites.

Secret: You can learn to fly on a Trapeze- Read your Cruise Compass for Circus School times. After you learn how to fly through the air, grab a hot dog at the first at sea Food Truck!

Secret: No lines for riding the Bumper Cars on boarding day.

Secret: Jamie’s Italian is open for lunch on sea days. Make a reservation early on as they fill quickly.

Secret: The Solarium pool is a multi-level glass enclosed pool with ‘puddle loungers’ in a separate area. There is also a ‘secret door’ on Deck 13, all the way forward that will lead you to the solarium.

Secret: There is a glass floor on deck 14 aft where you could see down as far as the Esplanade.

Secret: There is a “Workshop” for activities like scrapbooking.

Secret: You can have your picture taken with a stuffed GiGi Giraffe! Remember, post & tag with hashtag #selfiewithGiGi

Secret: You can purchase a pass to the Thermal Spa for only $99.00!

Secret: Vistarama can pop up any time in Two70, randomly.

Secret: Do Not sit in the first 3 or so rows in the theater, the seats are closer to the floor. This has some people uncomfortable. Your miles may vary. They are uncomfortable to me and 50+ people polled.

Secret: Look for your DreamWorks Characters! Watch/Read your cruise compass.

Secret: When you think “We Will Rock You” Is over….DON’T GET UP. There is more to come.
