Quantum of the Seas Balcony Safety Locks

Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas Balcony Cabin Door Locks.

Families travelling in balcony stateroom accommodations can have a peaceful nights sleep knowing there are child locks in place.

I wish we measured, the balcony railing seems higher on this ship too.

Quantum of the Seas Various Food

Quantum of the Seas, American Icon lunch. I have to rate it as very average. Nicely done presentation, the mac and cheese you see here had very little flavor of cheese, no creaminess or richness at all, it bordered dry.

Mr. enjoyed the Reuben turnover below.
(shhh, but I thought the russian was way too tangy)

Mr. enjoyed this too.

#nobeefprincess Pasta dish below

Did not really like my shrimp po boy. Each shrimp tasted like more breading than shrimp and I was really looking forward to shrimp, not breading.

I am not sure what this is or who in my family ate it. But it looks awesome!

Mr. brought us back a snack during intermission of
Mama Mia!
These are really good because anyone watching what they eat can easily eat this without the bun.

Seaplex Dog House

Tried the Big Apple ( I love these and have had them before!) Family had the Smoke House and enjoy and they also had the standard coney island hot dog. I would have liked a different bun. The texture of the roll they put the Big Apple on is too tough and too hard for a hot dog.

Wine Tasting @ Vintages

Johnny Rockets Take out.
(Note: I do not know what was in the bag. Grabbed the close up shot of a bag on a nearby table in Two70.)

We First Eat With Our eyes....

Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas
Our Dynamic Dining Experience
Sail Date: December 27, 2014

Happy New Year!
My Family Backstory: we are a family of 4. Our Daughter is 26, our Son is 22, we critique food frequently.  Not fast food eaters, seek out new, love fusion, but embrace traditional as well as food from many cultures. We have been cruising since 2001 with our kids. (Mr. & my first cruise was in 1987)

12/27/14 We arrived at American Icon 10 minutes prior to our dinner reservation time of 7:45 and we were told there would be at least a 30 minute wait. Even using My Time Dining on RC ships that have traditional dining rooms, the first evening can be hectic, understood. So we asked the Maitre D to call Chops Grille to see if they could accommodate our party of four. Success.

12/27/14 An Evening at Chops Grille
Our service was excellent. The food was outstanding. Flavors were so on point it was one of our favorite meals. The only thing I would personally do different is order without all the sauces. Beef, veal straight up please. The boys love beef, my princess doesn't eat beef and although I do enjoy beef I seldom eat it.

You will see a trend, my Princess had these two salads for her dinner. #nobeefprincess

12/28/14 An Evening at The Grande
Dressed to the nines & off we go.
Arrived for a 7:30 reservation to see one very long line. Mr. kindly asked the Maitre D how long the wait was going to be as he also casually mentioned his wife and daughter standing in heels and hoped he would honor our reservation without a long wait. Success. Our service was good. Our food was good. Nothing was outstanding though.  Our Escargot was room temperature. My Lobster was very salty. I would order it without the sauce although to me it seemed like the lobster itself was way over salted. We eat lobster at home often.  My husband enjoyed his more. The boy loved his beef.
Note: The Duck Pate on the Grande menu is not made on board and will not be served to people with allergies.

Royal Caribbeans Lobster Bisque, always a good choice and did not disappoint.

MMM, Escargot

Risotto with mushrooms
Guess who ordered this?  Do you see a trend?#nobeefprincess

Possibly the best salad I have ever had. French Bacon & Egg. Simple but the flavors work so well together! Easy to recreate at home, and I have. Twice.

Oops! How did this sneak in? What is a dining review without something traditional that most people love, Pigs in blankets. Had to indulge a little in the concierge lounge.

12/29/14 Dinner Delish at SILK
Arrived for a 8:00pm reservation and seated promptly. Our kids took off for a day at Disney while docked in Port Canaveral, so we were a party of two instead of four.  We were seated in a room in the rear close to the galley. The food was great and so was the service, but do not sit in this area. You hear the rolling food carts going in and out of the kitchen across the floor. Rubber wheels would make a world of difference. Also, the two tables in this room for 2 have one person hanging into the aisle. Flavors here were also spot on and the food was piping hot. Yes, I did order the Duck. Yes, it was very good.

Most commonly known as 'soup noodles", they place them on the table and say, Here is your wonton bread". Funny to a northeaster from NY.

12/30/14 The kids return!
Dinner Fun at CHIC
Arrived for a 8:00pm reservation and seated promptly. I love lamb. Lamb chops from the loin look like mini t bone, but as far as I am aware they are not identified as such.  I ordered it anyway. It was mediocre at best. I was hungry and it tasted "fine", but thats all I can comment. Everyone else enjoyed everything they ate.

There are very few pictures here because we were quite entertained by the table next to us. From what we witnessed; The people sat themselves. The table was not ready for anyone to be seated just yet. They were a couple, sat themselves next to us at a four-top. The staff saw and were confused- asked them to move to a table for two within 2 paces, they said they were going to be three. Staff let them stay, but it was clear that they were confused by this. A few minutes go by, a boy walks in, the mother screams across the dining room to catch his attention. He sits down. He walked in with what looked like either coke or possibly a scotch and coke. The parents had already ordered 2 scotches, they were on the table, they poured their two drinks into one glass and ordered two more. The son finishes his and they now pour theirs into his glass and order two more and the son orders a coke. This went on about 3 or 4 times. Yes. This is why I am lacking food porn from Chic.

12/31/14 /Dinner in the whimsical Wonderland
couldn't have picked better for New Years Eve dinner.
Happy New Year!
Arrived for a 8:00pm reservation and seated promptly. Voted "Best Cuisine Experience" on board Quantum of the Seas. I love this type of dining experience. They uncorked our Champagne and kept it chilled. Service is impeccable and fun.

Pictures do not do the food justice. Hands down the best food 'experience'
on board Quantum of the Seas

1/1/2015 Lunch at Jamie's Italian
Go early to avoid disappointment. Jamies does not accept reservations for lunch. We can not say enough about Jamie's. Fresh pasta made daily on board a cruise ship, oh yeah!

Happy 2015. No better way to dine the first evening of 2015 then with

1/2/2015 SILK Take Two
(the kids missed out the first time and that can not happen!)
Arrived for a 7:30 pm reservation and seated promptly.  Again with that "wonton bread"!  They are only these crunchy pickable bites, but yet leave a lasting impression. I have to say that they measure up to the best we have had on land. I will mention here that the Dynamic Dining waiters do not have an assistant waiter, the restaurants have what they are calling 'runners' (as such in some restaurants on land).

#nobeefprincess on the Hot Ramen- It's not just hot, it's very spicy!

Great Tika Masala!

We do not have any comments on Windjammer.

Cafe @Two70 had really great food options. I will add various food porn pictures within the coming days. Sorrentos pizza tasted like your standard frozen pizza. This might be because we are from NY and have very specific desires when it comes to our pizza. On the other hand, Sorrentos IS thee food option at the end of a long evening. Yummy sandwiches and cookies are available at Cafe Promenade.

Stay tuned, there could always be more...
